Singapore, November 2010

I've just returned from a short 3-day trip to Singapore for Hari Raya Haji holidays. It was heaps fun, we stayed at the new Marina Bay Sands hotel which is just so breathtakingly beautiful! It's made of 3 towers with a Skypark which is basically the infinity pool overlooking the Singapore skyline. BREATHTAKING! The jacuzzi on the other end overlooks the straits. I seriously CANNOT wait to go back there again the next chance i get :)

And whaddya know, there was a Chanel Cruise 2010 collection fashion show one night that i was there. We obviously didn't know about it hence did not have invites, CRY! They closed off the Skypark for the night so even hotel guests could not access the rooftop. Bigtime bummerama. But to make up for it, we went for a theatrical circus that night, the Voyage de la vie at Sentosa Resorts World. Spectacular show! And i got the rose from the main character at the end of the show heh heh ;P

And of course, for the kids we took the 2-day pass to Universal Studio. The adults had just as much fun as the children i tell ya! Very nice, but the main attraction that was the Battlestar Galactica rollercoaster was not open yet. I confess, i have never watched Battlestar Galactica in my life but watch enough Big Bang Theory and you'll be familiar with humans and cylons too! Lol!

Such a good time away from my job, and much needed, too! Now back to work - i've started SCN (special care nursery) side for paediatrics now so i'm dealing mostly with neonates. So tiyut!

Show Me The Moolah

Having a pretty good start to my call today, not that I'm trying to jinx myself or anything like that lol ;P All this while I never could update with my phone because the editor never seemed to load but it turns out all I had to do was use thr HTML editor instead /facepalm

Anyways I was having a conversation with my colleague Niza and we ended up discussing money - something we all have a little bit of trouble with at one point or another in out lives, right? While I was complaining how I was struggling to settle my monthly credit card debt (which most of the time adds up to more than my payslip amount eeep), my friend was actually paying off her own car, forks out rent, and also recently bought her dad an Alza! And we have the exact same salary!

What she does is quite smart - she liaised with unit gaji and had them split her salary into two accounts each month, and only spends from one. Genius! I've always set aside money to save but it would end up being spent at the end of the month on some pretty Topshop outfit or a nice dim sum lunch at Mandarin. Epic fail.

So now I've made a resolution to start saving! If not to pay off a car maybe for a nice new bag? Heh heh.. Who says you have to wait till new years to do make resolutions? :)

Off to the bank this weekend to open up a new bank account.
