I watched The Green Hornet yesterday! Soooo funny la. Worth waiting for the non-3D version, that shit gives me a headache. Must watch!!!

*GSC Pavilion has a Famous Amos stand now! Sooooooo distracting. Ask for 100g, they say NO! BUY 200g, you get 40g FREE. Walauuuu... So i walked away with 240g of no nut choc chip cookies, now all safely tucked away in my tums :__(

Bone Cyst

Been doing 3 weeks of Orthopaedics already and i love it! It's been quite eventful really, because the 2nd week i was in the department Jan got admitted for his core biopsy. Funny story how we found out about his ?tumor - he had amuscle sprain around the left side of his waist from his extensive gym sessions and football matches and it had been nagging him for a few days already so i got him to come to the hospital and get it checked out by the ortho clinic. Since Faizi had already done ortho (I was doing paediatrics at the time) and knew the medical officers personally, we didn't have to wait much. Went straight from registration to the examination by Dr Mimi and then the X-ray to rule out any possible fractures. Pretty standard procedures..

Absolutely normal on the left side where it was hurting but HELLO! WHAT IS THAT BIG ROUND THIS SITTING ON HIS RIGHT ACETABULUM?! Dr Mimi immediately referred him to Miss Chye, our resident orthopedics tumor team specialist to investigate further and one week later he got an MRI done and last week he got admitted for a core biopsy to get a sample of the ?tumor to find out what it really was.

He was in abit of pain post op despite it only being under spinal (i was worried it would be under general anaesthesia; didn't want to have to go through the risks of GA pulak) and he was only able to walk around albeit wonkily the next day, so going to the toilet and dressing/undressing got easier. I got to read the op notes, and they used an image intensifier for the procedure - sort of a modified x-ray + magnifier combination to firstly locate the tumor so they know where to poke and secondly to know how deep to go. From the images, she concluded that there was no tumor (PHEUWH!) and that it was probably just a simple bone cyst but they would need histopathological confirmation to be sure.

Our next appointment with Miss Chye is this Monday to review the biopsy results and to remove his stitches so we're keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

Orthopaedics & Traumatology

Tub's birthday was a big success! Everyone had a rocking good time, especially the kids and that's what matters the most! The only thing I had to complain about was the fact that I FORGOT to pop the poppers during the cake cutting... But it's okay because the party was awesome anyways!! :D

On another note, I've started my 5th posting already - Orthopaedics! Good riddance paeds, hehe. It was a very longgggg and draggy posting, and I can honestly say you won't be finding me anywhere near those departments lol ;p I've always favoured surgery based postings so I'm hoping this one will be good to me! Wish me luck!!!!

Best part about it - once a week calls! Ahmagaaaaah culture shock la so free wannnnnnn!! :D

Eleven

So excited for my tubby's birthday this Sunday! Super busy day tomorrow (today?) but i hope everything falls into place. I'm in charge of most of the decorations, party favours and games and that's a big responsibility to shoulder! ;) Running around today to:

• Central Market to get the printed mugs and badges
• Great Eastern Mall to settle the balloon payment and delivery
• Print shop in Melawati to print the centerpieces for the tables
• Email DCS entertainment to confirm last minute details for the face painter
• Pick up guitar hero from Lyn and Dida

And looooootssss more. Hopefully we can squeeze in a nice lunch with mama somewhere in there. Will update with pictorials soon. Goodnight xx

Got into a very heated discussion with my boyfriend yesterday regarding my (lack of) financial prudence. I earn a pretty decent paycheck every month considering i'm a fresh grad, but somehow nothing seems to be left over every month! He says i spend too lavishly but seriously i do not see it! I eat at mediocre places, i fill up my tank with Ron95 and i don't pay for any utilities (so lucky to still be living under my mother's roof he he) but still $$ is an issue.

The only thing i can see is that my only vice is handbags. That, i cannot resist. A big chunk of my pay goes toward paying off credit card debt - that sounds worse than it actually is, i'm not actually in debt.. i prefer to look at it as INSTALLMENT plan ;) Plus i never buy more than one bag at a time, that way i'm only paying for one particular bag at a time. SEE! FINANCIAL PRUDENCE! It's not my fault the things i like are expensive :(

But seriously. I was talking to a friend yesterday who earns less than me and has been working for a shorter period of time and she has waaaay more saved aside from her pay! This really opened my eyes and made me reflect.

I need to start saving too. If not for a rainy day, for a nice Balenciaga, maybe? ;)

I decided to go with the MacBook Pro! 17" baby!! Was contemplationg between the 15 and 17, but went with the bigger instead. Bigger is better, right? Urgh but now i'm regretting it a bit because 1) no SD slot!!! The main thing i do is transfer pics and there's TWOOOOO SD slots on the 15. GRR! Also, it's difficult getting accesories for the 17 tho... I don't even have a case/sleeve yet. Eyeing this one by Antenna:

...But amazon refuses to send to Malaysia. Had the same problem when i wanted to purchase through shopbop for a Marc Jacobs one, the order went thru and then got cancelled because of suspicious credit card, to avoid cc fraud. So frustrating!

So for the time being, my baby is nekkid :)
